Kim Eo-joon has become the top earner in Super Chat

In January 2023, who made the most money worldwide with Super Chat? The answer is Kim Eo-joon, a YouTuber from South Korea.

According to the YouTube marketing platform, vling, Kim Eo-joon's channel 'Kim Eo-joon's Humility is Difficult News Factory' earned approximately $200,000 USD in Super Chat revenue during the month of January 2023. Following Kim Eo-joon's channel, the second-highest Super Chat revenue earner in the world was a missionary channel run by Jerry Eze from Nigeria, which earned approximately $190,000 USD in Super Chat revenue.

Super Chat is a YouTube feature that allows viewers to directly donate a certain amount of money to YouTubers during live broadcasts, in order to enhance communication between the YouTuber and the viewers. Viewers can send Super Chats ranging from $0.5 USD to $50 USD per donation.

Kim Eo-joon is a well-known journalist and broadcaster in South Korea. He ended his program 'Kim Eo-joon's News Factory' at the end of last year, and began hosting live broadcasts on YouTube starting from January 9th this year. On the first day of his YouTube live broadcast, he earned approximately $77,000 USD in Super Chat revenue, which drew a lot of attention.

Furthermore according to vling, the number of subscribers to the 'Kim Eo-joon's Humility is Difficult News Factory' Channel increased three-fold within three weeks after the start of the live broadcast, from around 400,000 subscribers before the broadcast to over 1.25 million subscribers currently.
