Things IFB Preachers Say
Welcome! I'm a Christian and would consider myself an independent Bible believer. I believe in the fundamentals of the faith. I was exposed to the IFB movement as a teenager and was in it for many years. From my experience, there are good people, pastors, and churches that are Baptist and even IFB.
Though there is good, there seems to be an underlying toxic culture in many IFB churches. This culture exists because of pride, bad theology, twisted scriptures, opinionated preaching, manipulation, intimidation, and shame, as well as various forms of abuse. It promotes a relationship with God that is performance-based, causing you to never feel you are good enough for God. It also promotes a skewed view of sexuality that places the lion's share of the responsibility on women and young girls to maintain the purity of any relationship.
I started the channel to highlight the preaching that promotes the toxic culture that exists within much of the IFB movement.
