The Urban Assembly School for Law and Justice SLJ
About the Urban Assembly School for Law & Justice (SLJ)
SLJ was founded in 2004 and is a law themed, unscreened public high school located in downtown Brooklyn. We serve approximately 460 students each year, the majority of whom live near or below the poverty line and will be the first in their family to go to college. Our cohort for the class of 2017 had a 91% graduation rate within four years (vs. a comparative city-wide graduation rate for 2016 of 73%). In addition, 100% of our seniors were accepted to college or have a post-high school plan. These results are accomplished through strong community partnerships, such as with our founding partner, Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP.Economy
