Little H the Squirrel
Little H was the coolest squirrel around. She visited the patio for years to get nuts and she got comfortable enough to crawl up our legs and jump on our laps.
Little H became pregnant in 2025 and we estimate she had her babies in early July 2025.
We were heartbroken on August 4, 2025 when we found Little H dead on our driveway, below the tall palm tree where her nest was.
We were hopeful that maybe it wasn’t her….and waited days for her to show up at the patio. But after 1 week of no sign of her we realized she was gone.
Little H being gone meant her babies were left alone with no maternal care or nutrients needed for a baby squirrel to survive. So we hired our tree guys to investigate. We told them to look for a nest with baby squirrels and if they appeared healthy then leave them be. But if they looked uncared for or sickly then please bring them down so we can care for them.
We received 4 beautiful but very dehydrated and malnourished babies. We took them in 🥰
