Pebe Sebert
Known for penning classic hits for artists including Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus, Miranda Cosgrove, and her daughter Kesha, Pebe Sebert has spent virtually all of her life making music. She spent her youth singing in bands and as a solo artist. In 1980, Sebert scored her first #1 song when Dolly Parton recorded “Old Flames Can't Hold a Candle to You,” co-written with her then-husband Hugh Moffatt. She wrote for Kathy Mattea, Johnny Cash, June Carter, Crystal Gayle, and Merle Haggard, before working with Kesha on “Your Love Is My Drug” and “Timber (Feat. Kesha).” In 2017, Sebert co-wrote six songs on Kesha’s GRAMMY®-nominated #1 album, Rainbow.
In 2021, Sebert discovered tapes of recordings she’d made in the early 1980s. Tracks like “Vampire” and “Hard Times Ahead” were released after more than three decades, earning acclaim.
Sebert’s accomplishments have earned her a GRAMMY® nomination and Gold and Platinum certifications. She founded The Magic Mission.
