Zoe Weil
I discovered my life’s work in 1987 when I began teaching humane education—courses on environmental preservation, animal protection, and compassionate living. I watched students transform into passionate changemakers almost overnight, and I knew I had found my purpose. Since then, I’ve dedicated my life to advancing humane education because I believe it’s the most powerful way to prepare people to become informed, conscious, and caring global citizens.
In 1996, I co-founded the Institute for Humane Education (IHE) to spread this work and train others to teach about the interconnected challenges of human rights, animal protection, and environmental sustainability. Through this channel, I share stories, ideas, and conversations to inspire hope, action, and a vision for a more just, compassionate, and sustainable world. My mission is to help people become solutionaries—individuals who identify unjust systems and create solutions that do the most good and least harm.
