Forest to Homestead
2020 was a challenging year for everyone. Job losses, toilet paper scarcity, and fear of the unknown was the new reality. During this time, I started to notice how much I depended on external sources, and it kind of scared me a little. This is what prompted me to start learning more about becoming self-sufficient. Then several rabbit holes later, I started learning about homesteading and I wanted this lifestyle to become my new reality.
We sold our "dream home" and purchased 27 acres of undeveloped land. My family lived in a camper while we built our new home. We finished building our home in 2022 and now we are starting a homestead from scratch. Follow along as we figure out this new and exciting adventure full of gardening, food preservation, chickens, and so much more!
