Bethany Center for Nonviolence
A journey, a place, a community, and a teaching. Bethany center, a movement of Christian transformation for individual seekers, for churches, for a world waiting to be born.
For twenty-five years the Bethany Community has been following this way in Syracuse, Central New York. We are not a church in the usual sense, with established rites, rules and ministers. What we are is a flow of relationships, nurtured over time - by the word of the nonviolent bible, of self-sharing, of trust, and hope for a nonviolent world in a world of violence.
Because we are about creating relationships, we believe this pattern can be duplicated anywhere, as a pattern for the church of tomorrow. All it requires is a commitment to sustaining the source of such relationships, in prayer, teaching of the nonviolent gospel and holding its space in the world.
