The Center for News Literacy
The Center for News Literacy at Stony Brook University, the first of its kind at any American university, is the birthplace of the News Literacy movement.
Created by Howard Schneider, the Dean of Journalism at Stony Brook University, the course teaches students to apply critical thinking skills to their search for reliable information. The Ford, Knight and McCormick Foundations funded the development of the course, assessment of its outcomes and the export of the course to other campuses around the world.Economy
