City of Perkins, Oklahoma
The Town of Perkins was established by the issuance of a Townsite Patent on August 25, 1891. The City of Perkins was registered on May 20, 1999. The City Home Rule Charter establishes Perkins as a "commission-manager government,” with commissioners elected from each of four wards and one mayor elected at large. The City Commission then appoints a city manager, who serves as the chief administrative officer.
Departments Include: City Administration (City Hall), Animal Control, Building Permits, Emergency Management, Fire Department, Library, Municipal Court, Parks and Recreation, Planning & Floodplain, Police Department, and Streets and Alleys. Oklahoma State Title 60 trusts are established with specific oversight as follows: Perkins Public Works Authority (Sanitation, Water, and Sewer); Perkins Industrial Development Authority; Perkins Public Library Trust; and Oklahoma Territorial Plaza.News
