My name is To Thuyet; I am 35 years old and a military veteran. After five years of duty at the border—a period during which I was completely out of touch with my family—I finally returned home.
However, life had changed drastically: my house had fallen into serious disrepair, my wife had left with my best friend, and my young daughter had grown up without the care and attention she needed.
I decided to start over. My daughter and I moved into the house my parents had left behind. Gradually, we worked together to renovate the old place, grow vegetables, cook simple meals, and build a peaceful sanctuary of our own.
Through this channel, I want to share our journey of restoring the old house, embracing country life, and overcoming daily challenges—a simple, self-sufficient life, yet one filled with hope.
