My calcaneus(heel) fracture journey
Welcome to my calcaneus/heel fracture journey. I am a very active 57 year old woman who had an unfortunate bicycle accident and fractured her heel in several parts. I was very frustrated and sad when I found out that the healing process was going to take a long time. The 2 doctors I saw told me " this is one of the worse fractures". This is my first fracture ever and of course I went through different stages of emotions. I am an educator and communicator at heart and as I am going through recovery I started documenting by taking pictures, videos and writing about my daily experiences.
I am not expert on this at all but I would like to share my journey and maybe offer support to those who are going through this kind of fracture or any bone fracture. I will post my good and bad experiences, but mostly positive. Tips and advise on how to see the end of the tunnel and go back to "normal".
