Leaving Laurel
“It all began when one of us was Leaving Laurel”.
Birthed in 2019, Pierce Fulton & Gordon Huntley together as Leaving Laurel have developed a penchant for introspective melodic electronic music.
Inspired by their time together in the hills of Laurel Canyon, & from their formative experiments recording into old cassette tape players, the project materialized seemingly out of thin air - something neither of them knew they were looking for.
Chasing the nostalgic sound that came from their first collaborations, the pair finished their debut album at the start of 2021, just prior to a horrible tragedy.
Pierce passed away in April of 2021 after a tragic struggle with his mental health. The album is dedicated to his memory, & has come to represent much more than two friends making music together in the Laurel Canyon neighborhood of Los Angeles.
After some time to reflect, Gordon decided to collect the pieces of the remaining music the duo had started, & to carry on with the project.
