Americana Storytelling at it’s Finest
Scot Free Session’s is a collaboration of musician’s brought together by Edmonton, Alberta native Scot Robinson to provide a vessel for his truly engaging songs. The songs are an extension of the people, places and value’s that he’s encountered over a lifetime of adventure and travel. His narrative-first approach to songwriting draws on these stories, while opening up the floor to an array of introspective questions surrounding mortality and what it means to be human.
Teaming up with Cape Breton native Bobby Cameron in his Edmonton studio , it’s a little wonder the earthy and Americana roots stylings have placed in numerous songwriting contest finals. Songs from the album were Six-time finalists in the International Songwriting Competition and finished top three in the "Lyrics Only" category three years in a row, winning it in 2021. They were also a winner and Three-time finalist in the "Unsigned Only" songwriting competition.
