WORLD BRAIN
Lucas Chantre began writing songs at 16, often performing with his sister on bass and violin. His musical interests continued to expand as he explored classical music, discovered music from Brazil, Japan, and across Africa, and deepened his love of film scores. Joining the experimental pop band Fenster in 2013 marked the beginning of his career as a recording and touring artist. He has also continued to collaborate with Fenster bandmate JJ Weihl, appearing on three of her albums as Discovery Zone. Peer 2 Peer, the first release of his WORLD BRAIN project, arrived in 2019, with several songs from the album later featured on Hulu’s High Fidelity and HBO’s High Maintenance. 2024’s Open Source delivered more of Chantre’s heartfelt lyrics and captivating melodies while showcasing his continued artistic evolution and dedication to his craft. WORLD VS BRAIN, his new EP, takes this evolution further, opening into an electro-pastoral psychedelic soundworld of its own.
