Danse Konpa
Danse Konpa, founded in 2011 in Tampa by renowned artist and filmmaker Jean-Rene Rinvil, the company was established to celebrate and promote Haitian culture through its popular dance style, Konpa. This music, created by Nemours Jean-Baptiste and Weber Sicot in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, in 1955, has become a symbol of Haitian identity and cultural pride.
Under the leadership of its founder, Jean-Rene Rinvil, Danse Konpa has expanded globally, establishing numerous ambassador affiliate branches since 2023. These include Argentina, Kenya, Brazil, South Africa, Chile, Gambia, and many more. With a mission to spread Haitian dance culture worldwide, Danse Konpa is dedicated to building a global community of Konpa enthusiasts.
